Squares, Cubes, What's the Difference?!?

So for my math today I was dividing Polynomials by Monomials, oh so fun!
Here is a sample of one of my problems:

2x(to the fourth power)y + 8x(cubed) y(squared) - x(squared) y(to the fourth power)+3xy(to the eighth power)/xy(cubed)
so two x to the fourth power times y plus eight x cubed times y squared minus x squared times y to the fourth power plus three times x times y to the eighth power divided by x times y cubed.
I want go into the process of explaining to you how I got the answer, but the answer is:
2x(cubed)/y (squared) + 8x(squared)/y - xy +3y(to the fifth power).

This blogging is a nice reprieve for my poor head. Though, to tell the truth, it's not all that hard since I know the way to go about the problem, the way to solve it, if you know what I mean. Still, it feels good to be sitting here blogging, with the sweet sounds of Switchfoot playing live in my ears. Before that I was listening to the song 23, by Jimmy Eat World, which is one of the euphoria inducing songs I was talking about in my previous entry.
Speaking of previous entries, I have a public apology to make to my good friend Gentiradentes, (aka: Koots) for the misuse of the word Geek. Geek is not a negative name, just simply a term for someone who has much knowledge of the technical. I meant to use the word Nerd, in my entry title. So sorry. (LOL)
